This cute little buckle forms a circle when closed. The circle is 5/8" and the buckle itself when closed is 1 5/8" across. The important thing to note is that it does not "snap" together - it requires tension to hold it closed, as with an elastic belt, tight fitting garment, or stretchy fabric.
