This is very smooth and highly polished silvertone / nickel metal, and it is flat on the front and back. The edges are softly rounded. For finer fabrics, it would be perfect for the center of a sexy top, or for the straps (if a lot of fabric is to be gathered, we suggest the 1 1/2" size instead). This would be good for purses, or even jewelry or other fashion accessories. It has no seams or breaks in the metal.
