However, it's much softer than cotton and stays soft after repeated washings. A little spandex helps retain the shape and enhance durability. This fabric is 6.5 oz. per square yard - nice and sturdy, but stretchy in all directions. It is the perfect t-shirt fabric, and would be great for sleepwear, lounge wear, or even baby clothes because it's so soft against the skin.
