About Us - Lucy's Fabrics

lucysfabrics.com is a Fabric Boutique. Like your friendly shop on Main Street, we don't try to carry everything -- just select items for women's and children's apparel and accessories. We focus on stretch knits, lingerie supplies and fashion trims. Our style is fashion-forward and young-at-heart, and every piece of fabric and trim is personally selected to fit into our merchandise mix and held to a high standard. We are inspired by our customers and love it when customers share pictures of their projects!

We have been selling fabric and trims online since 2004.

How we got started: Laura started out with her own women's clothing line, selling it to boutiques around the USA. One day she decided to sell leftover fabric and trim to free up space, opening an eBay store in July, 2004. Soon, designer friends started asking her to help them find fabric, or sell their leftover fabric. Contractors started referring people who needed to sell their fabric, too. It didn't take long for fabric sales to become more enjoyable than the design and manufacturing business.

Who is Lucy? Lucy, an American Pit Bull Terrier, went to the Rainbow Bridge on September 13, 2008 at the age of 13 1/2. We called her the VP of Security, but really, being nearly deaf and being a big attention-hog made her a pretty ineffective deterrent. Lucy happily greeted the UPS guys, mail carrier, and any shop visitors. In addition to being a favorite around the shop, Lucy won over many local television and news reporters in our fight against breed discrimination and bans. Here is the pack:

BB and Jasper recently joined Lucy at the Bridge, also at 13.  But it didn't take long for the Pit Bull gods to deliver Jolene and Johnny to our gate.  Jolene is a picture-perfect APBT and Johnny is either her half-brother or son and he is a mix.  The Boston Terrier named Cinquo ("5"), the the only dog I have ever bought, is by far our naughtiest dog ever! Loretta Lynn is about 8 and puts up with a lot of nonsense. She is now the main shop greeter. Our family works diligently to protect neglected and abused APBTs and to stop legislation that targets any specific dog breed.
