Fancy, Glittery Rhinestone and Silvertone Slide Buckle - Heart Shaped, 3/8" center bar (this is the inside measurement -- it is about 7/8" high and a hair under 1" wide on the outside). Made of lightweight metal with nicely faceted stones, this buckle is good for flip flops, wedding decorations, hair bows, straps, scrapbooking, etc. No prong. A 3/8" ribbon would fit exactly, or use a thicker ribbon or a strip of fabric if you want a more gathered effect. The point on the heart on the center bar makes it a bit harder to squeeze the ribbon through, so you would want to use a smaller size than you would on a round or square - it does not have to be by much -- 2 millimeters or 1/8" smaller would be fine. The bar on this buckle runs vertically (top to bottom).

In the second picture, the pink ribbon is 5/8" (15mm) satin.

It is about the same size on the outside as the heart buckle with the horizontal bar, but because this bar is vertical, the shape causes the center bar to be a bit smaller than the vertical one.
